The Lake Terramuggus cottage located on North Main Street in Marlborough, Connecticut was transformed from a bungalow cottage into a petite Victorian structure.
The existing shed roof and exterior walls were removed to the deck level of the second floor. New walls were constructed that allowed for greater height and a more functional second floor layout.
The master suite, which overlooks the lake, includes a vaulted ceiling and a master bath complete with whirlpool tub with a lake view.
Skylights have been carefully located on the new roof structure to allow for the sun to penetrate interior spaces that the placement of windows were impossible or impractical due to the lack of privacy that tight lake front properties typically possess. A skylight above the new stairs floods the interior of the new recessed foyer.
