Melissa’s career in interior design began with an internship in residential design in 1994. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in 1997, she worked for architectural firms to enhance the function and aesthetic of hotel interiors. Her direct work with architects resulted in a better understanding of the overall design process and how the two trades depend upon, and complement one another. This experience coupled with the successful completion of the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) allowed Melissa to apply creative and technical solutions to interior environments and to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of the public was not compromised. The strong, collaborative relationships Melissa formed, combined with her love for design prompted her to start Identity Interiors. She is also a Professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers..
