The new home is part of a waterfront family compound located on the shores  of Long Island Sound. After removing a small structural deficient cottage from the adjoining property, a new home was designed for the purpose of providing guest quarters for the main house quests.

The small lot required a three story structure to create sufficient livable square-footage. The open first floor plan consist of a great room opening up to the outside deck and the ocean beyond. An open stair of metal and wood connects the second floor three bedrooms. A wall of frosted glazing illuminates the stair and hallway while offering the needed privacy from the street. The third floor was designed for large gatherings during the rainy days of the summer.

The modern aesthetic visual connects with the main house utilizing similar materials and general shapes.
